Deny log on as a service

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:22728Date: (C)2015-01-07   (M)2023-07-31
Class: COMPLIANCEFamily: windows

This security setting determines which service accounts are prevented from registering a process as a service. This policy setting supersedes the Log on as a service policy setting if an account is subject to both policies.Note: This security setting does not apply to the System, Local Service, or Network Service accounts. When configuring a user right in the SCM enter a comma delimited list of accounts. Accounts can be either local or located in Active Directory, they can be groups, users, or computers. Note The Enterprise Admins and Domain Admins groups are domain-specific and cannot be specified in generic baselines such as those in SCM. These must be manually added to the Group Policy setting. This policy setting determines whether services can be launched in the context of the specified account. Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment!Deny log on as a service (2) WMI: root\rsop\computer#RSOP_UserPrivilegeRight#AccountList#UserRight='SeDenyServiceLogonRight' and precedence=1
