This policy setting allows users to change the size of the pagefile. By making the pagefile extremely large or extremely small, an attacker could easily affect the performance of a compromised computer. When configuring a user right in the SCM enter a comma delimited list of accounts. Accounts can be either local or located in Active Directory, they can be groups, users, or computers. Vulnerability: Users who can change the page file size could make it extremely small or move the file to a highly fragmented storage volume, which could cause reduced computer performance. Counter Measure: Restrict the Create a page file user right to members of the Administrators group. Potential Impact: None. This is the default configuration. Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\Create a pagefile (2) REG: NO INFO
