Out of bounds write vulnerability in Node.js - CVE-2018-12115ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:96747 | Date: (C)2024-01-12 (M)2024-05-22 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Node.js 10.x before 10.9.0, 8.x before 8.11.4, or 6.x before 6.14.4 and is prone to an out of bounds write vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application which fails to handle the miscalculation of the maximum length of the input bytes to be written. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to write to memory outside of a Buffer's memory space, that can corrupt unrelated Buffer objects or cause the Node.js process to crash.
