ID: oval:gov.nist.usgcb.windowsseven:def:3Date: (C)2012-04-13   (M)2023-07-14
Class: COMPLIANCEFamily: windows

This security setting determines the number of minutes that must elapse after a failed logon attempt before the failed logon attempt counter is reset to 0 bad logon attempts. The available range is 1 minute to 99,999 minutes. If an account lockout threshold is defined, this reset time must be less than or equal to the Account lockout duration. Default: None, because this policy setting only has meaning when an Account lockout threshold is specified. The time period in seconds to be used with the lockout threshold value. For example, if the threshold is set to 10 attempts and the duration is set to 15 minutes, then if more than 10 failed login attempts occur with a single user account within a 15-minute period, the account will be disabled. 15 minutes = 900 seconds Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Account Policies\Account Lockout Policy\Reset account lockout counter after (2) REG: INFO NOT AVAILABLE
