The host is installed with Mozilla Firefox before 24.0, Firefox ESR 17.x before 17.0.9, Thunderbird before 24.0, Thunderbird ESR 17.x before 17.0.9, and SeaMonkey before 2.21, and is prone to a security bypass vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly lock the MAR file. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to replace the installed software with their own or extract and run executables files with the same privileges as that of the Mozilla Updater.
