Multiple integer overflow vulnerabilities in Python via large integer valuesID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:17197 | Date: (C)2014-03-21 (M)2023-03-24 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Python 1.5.2 through 2.5.1 and is prone to multiple integer overflow vulnerabilities. The flaws are present in imageop.c in the imageop module in Python, which fails to properly handle large integer values in certain arguments to the crop function, leading to a buffer overflow. Successful exploitation allow context-dependent attackers to break out of the Python VM and execute arbitrary code.
