Denial of service vulnerability in the DTLS implementation in OpenSSL

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:20884Date: (C)2014-08-25   (M)2017-08-29
Class: VULNERABILITYFamily: windows

The host is installed with OpenSSL before 0.9.8zb, 1.0.0 before 1.0.0n or 1.0.1 before 1.0.1i and is prone to denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle crafted DTLS handshake messages that trigger memory allocations corresponding to large length values. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption).
