Elevation of privilege vulnerability in the WebDAV kernel-mode driver in Microsoft Windows - CVE-2015-0011ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:23099 | Date: (C)2015-01-14 (M)2021-09-11 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and is prone to an elevation of privilege vulnerability. A flaw is present in the WebDAV Kernel-Mode Driver, which fails to properly handle a specially crafted application. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could bypass impersonation-level security and gain elevated privileges on a targeted system, which could allow them to intercept WebDAV requests for files from any server (including corporate SharePoint sites) and redirect those file requests to return any, potentially malicious, files of the attackers choosing.
