Denial of service vulnerability in Apache Tomcat via a malformed chunked transfer codingID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:23701 | Date: (C)2015-03-09 (M)2023-12-14 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.42, 7.x before 7.0.55 or 8.x before 8.0.9 and is prone to a denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in java/org/apache/coyote/http11/filters/ChunkedInputFilter.java, which does not properly handle attempts to continue reading data after an error has occurred. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to conduct HTTP request smuggling attacks or cause a denial of service (resource consumption) by streaming data with malformed chunked transfer coding.
