The host is installed with Windows journal in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 R2 and is prone to a memory corruption vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle a crafted journal file. Successful exploitation allows attackers to execute an arbitrary code in the context of the current user or If a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker could take control of the affected system.
