Security bypass vulnerability in the session-persistence implementation in Apache Tomcat via a web application that places a crafted object in a session

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:33119Date: (C)2016-03-01   (M)2023-12-14
Class: VULNERABILITYFamily: windows

The host is installed with Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31 or 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 and is prone to a security bypass vulnerability. A flaw is present in the session-persistence implementation, which mishandles session attributes. Successful exploitation allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and execute arbitrary code in a privileged context.
