Session fixation vulnerability in the session-persistence implementation in Apache TomcatID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:33123 | Date: (C)2016-03-01 (M)2023-12-14 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.66, 8.x before 8.0.30 or 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 and is prone to a session fixation vulnerability. A flaw is present in the session-persistence implementation, which fails to handle different session settings used for deployments of multiple versions of the same web application. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to hijack web sessions by leveraging use of a requestedSessionSSL field for an unintended request.
