Heap overflow vulnerability in the EVP_EncryptUpdate() function in OpenSSL via very large amounts of input dataID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:34270 | Date: (C)2016-05-05 (M)2024-02-19 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with OpenSSL 1.0.1 before 1.0.1t or 1.0.2 before 1.0.2h and is prone to a heap overflow vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to handle very large amounts of input data. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to supply very large amounts of input data after a previous call to EVP_EncryptUpdate() with a partial block then a length check can overflow resulting in a heap corruption.
