Denial of service vulnerability in OpenSSL - CVE-2016-2179ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:37185 | Date: (C)2016-09-16 (M)2023-12-20 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1t or 1.0.2 through 1.0.2h and is prone to a denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in DTLS implementation, which fails to properly restrict the lifetime of queue entries associated with unused out-of-order messages. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by maintaining many crafted DTLS sessions simultaneously.
