ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:78648 | Date: (C)2022-04-11 (M)2022-10-13 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: unix |
The host is installed with Apache Log4j 2.0.x through 2.16.0 (excluding security releases 2.3.1 and 2.12.3) and is prone to a denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle issue in the logging configuration when it uses a non-default Pattern Layout with a Context Lookup. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to craft malicious input data that contains a recursive lookup, resulting in a StackOverflowError that will terminate the process.
