The host is installed with the VMware Workstation 12.x before 12.5.8 or VMware Player 12.x before 12.5.8 and is prone to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle an issue in JPEG2000 parser in the TPView.dll. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to execute code or perform a denial of service on the windows OS that runs workstation.
