Do not allow supported Plug and Play device redirection

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:8852Date: (C)2013-01-21   (M)2023-05-09
Class: COMPLIANCEFamily: windows

The Do not allow supported Plug and Play device redirection machine setting should be configured correctly. This policy setting allows you to control the redirection of supported Plug and Play devices, such as Windows Portable Devices, to the remote computer in a Remote Desktop Services session. By default, Remote Desktop Services allows redirection of supported Plug and Play devices. Users can use the "More" option on the Local Resources tab of Remote Desktop Connection to choose the supported Plug and Play devices to redirect to the remote computer. If you enable this policy setting, users cannot redirect their supported Plug and Play devices to the remote computer. If you disable this policy setting or do not configure this policy setting, users can redirect their supported Plug and Play devices to the remote computer. Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection\Do not allow supported Plug and Play device redirection (2) KEY: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\fDisablePNPRedir
