Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey - MFSA 2012-97

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:8030Date: (C)2012-11-30   (M)2024-03-27
Class: PATCHFamily: windows

The host is missing a security update according to MFSA 2012-97. The update is required to fix cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. A flaw is present in the applications, which assign the system principal, rather than the sandbox principal, to XMLHttpRequest objects created in sandboxes. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks or obtain sensitive information by leveraging a sandboxed add-on.
