Argument injection vulnerability in PostgreSQLID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:10728 | Date: (C)2013-04-09 (M)2024-02-19 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with PostgreSQL 9.2.x before 9.2.4, 9.1.x before 9.1.9 or 9.0.x before 9.0.13 and is prone to argument injection vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to handle a connection request using a database name that begins with a "-" (hyphen). Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (file corruption) and allows remote authenticated users to modify configuration settings and execute arbitrary code.
