The host is installed with VideoLAN VLC media player before 2.0.4 and is prone to denial of service vulnerability. The flaw is present in the SHAddToRecentDocs function, which fails to handle a crafted file name that triggers an incorrect string-length calculation when the file is added to VLC. Successful exploitation could allow user-assisted attackers to cause a denial of service.
