WinVerifyTrust Signature Validation Vulnerability. A flaw is present in the WinVerifyTrust function in the operating system, which fails to handle the Windows Authenticode signature verification for portable executable (PE) files. Successful exploitation could allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or take complete control of an affected system if a user or application runs or installs a specially crafted PE file on an affected system.
