Security bypass vulnerability in Mozilla products - MFSA-2015-67ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:25639 | Date: (C)2015-08-06 (M)2024-03-27 |
Class: PATCH | Family: windows |
The host is missing a critical security update according to Mozilla advisory, MFSA-2015-67. The update is required to fix a security bypass vulnerability. A flaw is present in the applications, which do not enforce key pinning upon encountering an X.509 certificate problem that generates a user dialog. Successful exploitation could allow user-assisted man-in-the-middle attackers to bypass intended access restrictions by triggering a (1) expired certificate or (2) mismatched hostname for a domain with pinning enabled.
