Directory traversal vulnerability in RequestUtil.java in Apache Tomcat via a /.. (slash dot dot) in a pathnameID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:33125 | Date: (C)2016-03-01 (M)2022-10-10 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.65 or 8.x before 8.0.27 and is prone to a directory traversal vulnerability. A flaw is present in RequestUtil.java, which fails to handle a /.. (slash dot dot) in a pathname used by a web application in a getResource, getResourceAsStream or getResourcePaths call. Successful exploitation allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and list a parent directory.
