Double free vulnerability in PostgreSQL by closing an SSL session during the session shutdown sequenceID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:33747 | Date: (C)2016-03-30 (M)2021-11-15 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with PostgreSQL before 9.0.20, 9.1.x before 9.1.16, 9.2.x before 9.2.11, 9.3.x before 9.3.7 or 9.4.x before 9.4.2 and is prone to a double free vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle session shutdown sequence. Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by closing an SSL session at a time when the authentication timeout will expire during the session shutdown sequence.
