Memory corruption vulnerability in the WebSockets implementation in Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey - MFSA 2012-88 (Mac OS X)ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:7669 | Date: (C)2012-10-26 (M)2023-11-19 |
Class: PATCH | Family: macos |
The host is missing a security update according to Mozilla advisory, MFSA 2012-88. The update is required to fix a memory corruption vulnerability. A flaw is present in the applications, which fail to properly handle the mozilla::net::FailDelayManager::Lookup function in the WebSockets implementation. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code.
