Class: PATCH | Family: windows |
The host is missing an important security update according to Microsoft security bulletin, MS16-101. The update is required to fix multiple vulnerabilities. The flaws are present in the Windows Kerberos, which fails to properly handle a password change request and falls back to NT LAN Manager (NTLM) Authentication Protocol as the default authentication protocol. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could bypass Kerberos authentication on a target machine and decrypt drives protected by BitLocker.
